Project chalet in Chamonix, France

This project involved the renovation and styling of a chalet in Chamonix, where the goal was to create a fresh, contemporary interior while preserving its authentic alpine character. The client chose to remove all existing furniture, leaving behind a space that initially felt dated and worn. The renovation focused on thoughtful, impactful updates rather than a complete structural overhaul. Walls were refreshed with new paint, the electrical system was upgraded, black switches were introduced for a modern contrast, and the ski room was redesigned to improve both functionality and appearance.

The interior concept balances clean, contemporary design with the warmth of a traditional chalet. Since the property is also used during the summer months, a light and uplifting color palette was selected. Shades of blue, yellow, and beige bring brightness and freshness, ensuring the chalet feels airy year-round. Natural materials play an important role, with fabrics such as wool and linen adding texture and comfort. I have also used a lot of prints.

A second phase of renovating is coming in a year time, with additional elements, such as stair carpeting, new floors in bedrooms, new bathrooms,  to further enhance the space.
